Gewurztraminer in our shop

Gewurztraminer is a member of the traminer family, along with savagnin rose (called traminer or klevener de Heiligenstein) and savagnin blanc (used in the Jura vineyards). Cultivated in Alsace since the Middle Ages, traminer was replaced in 1870 by its more aromatic form, gewurztraminer, known in Alsace since the 16th century.

Gewurztraminer is the epitome of the originality and typicality of Alsace wines, and goes perfectly with spicy dishes and strong cheeses such as Munster, as well as foie gras and the strongest spices or aromatic herbs. This makes it the ideal partner for many Asian dishes, including Chinese, Indonesian, Malaysian, Thai and Indian cuisine.
