The Praelatenberg is an exceptional terroir, it is between 250 and 350 m in height, and enjoys an East – Southeast exposure. The metamorphic bedrock gives a unique soil in the region. It is composed of quartz and mica, it is deep and contains a large amount of ferruginous pebbles. This site has been recognised since 823, it belonged to the monks of the Abbey of Ebersmunster.
This Alsace grand cru produces ageing wines that develop over time the terroir characteristics such as: crystalline minerality and subtle flavours.
The Estate produces on this prestigious site a Riesling and a Gewurztraminer.
The wines produced can be kept for ten years.
